What’s the heaviest weight you can lift?
Schoolbag (6kg avg.)
Gold bar (12kg. avg.)
Teacher’s desk (90kg avg.)

The weight of our guilt is too heavy for anyone to carry. You were not created to live with guilt.

“He (Jesus) personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed” (1 Peter 2:24 –

Only Jesus can carry the weight of your sin. Give your sin to him now and believe in faith that you are forgiven.

That little ‘low battery’ sign on your phone which always pops up at the worst time is also a reminder that everything we create runs down or comes to an end. Sure, you can charge the battery but eventually it’s useless.

You are different. God didn’t create you to come to an end. God created you to live for eternity.

“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me will live even if he diesDo you believe this?'” (John 11:25-26

Knowing that you will live forever, should change how you approach today.

Stop the taxi. Get off the treadmill. Put down the phone. Switch off the Play Station. Close the laptop. Stop studying (for now).

You were not created to be busy all the time. You were created for rest.

“Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he (Jesus) said to them, ‘Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest'”.
(Mark 6:31 –

The gift of rest is to remind you that you are not just a human ‘doing’ but a human-being.

People are out here looking at who has the best instafeed, getting the most prizes in school and sports, who has the best winged liner, the list goes on forever… “but the Lord looks at the heart” (see 1 Samuel 16:7)

When God sees you, He sees your heart and if you’ve invited Jesus into your heart then that is who He sees.
Wow, that’s amazing!

What or who do you think God sees when He looks at your heart?
