It’s great to have big ideas of what you want to achieve in life. Just know that, actually, you’ve already arrived. You’ve made it. Because no matter what you accomplish on earth, nothing really beats being ‘in’ with the King of kings.

Without you having to try, He’s promoted you to royalty. You’ve made it big. Enjoy the relief that anything you achieve is just an added bonus to an already abundant life, and that nothing you achieve will ever beat what God’s done for you. He ‘saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.’ (Ephesians 2:8-9)

‘If you fully obey the LORD your God and carefully keep all His commands that I am giving you today, the LORD your God will set you high above all the nations of the world.’ (Deuteronomy 28:1)

We see this principle all over Scripture: God honours obedience. He’s not looming over you – big stick in hand – ready to smack you when you mess up. He’s inviting you into a life of liberating obedience. Because obedience frees you from sin’s consequences, to live life at its best – the way it’s designed to be lived. And God honours you for choosing to obey even when – especially when – no one is watching.

David wrote, ‘As soon as I pray, You answer me.’ (Psalm 138:3) You can face the best of days and the worst of days knowing that, because God never takes His eyes off you, the millisecond you think a prayer, or whisper or sing or cry out to God, He hears you, and He answers. That doesn’t mean He delivers the goods instantaneously or exactly the way you think He should, but He is busy lovingly working out His best plans for you.

If it occurs to you today to reach out to God, don’t put off praying. He longs to hear from you, and He’ll listen and answer without delay.

The hardest thing for me to believe about God is that He really loves me. It’s easy to believe He’s powerful, sovereign and wise. But I struggle to feel His love. Can you relate?

Lately, I’ve asked God to help me see myself the way He sees me. How’s this for awesome truth: ‘God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure.’ (Ephesians 1:5)

It gives Him tremendous joy to draw me – to draw YOU – to Himself! Let it satisfy your soul today: you are wildly loved.
