Ephesians 4: 26 says “Do not let the sun go down on your anger.”
Do you battle with getting angry? And do you hold onto grudges?

Paul spoke to the church in Ephesus and he speaks to you and me too with incredibly wise words. Don’t let your day end without dealing with your anger! The next line after that verse says “otherwise you give the devil a foothold.”

If anger is not dealt with, it will imprison you. Who do you need to forgive?
And is it maybe time you ask Jesus to help you deal with your anger?

“Who can say, ‘I have cleansed my heart; I am pure and free from sin’?”

I can’t because I gossiped today. I wish I didn’t but it’s so hard not to join in with others at break.

I can’t because I lusted after a girl. It always feels wrong but it’s so hard not to look at her and imagine what it would be like to touch her.

I can’t because I lied to my parents. I don’t actually feel so bad because they don’t really care anyway.

I can because even though I’ve done all of the above, Jesus has promised that he will forgive me when I confess my sins.

Distracted

Driving distracted like while texting or putting on makeup is dangerous. I had a hectic experience in Greece. A local Greek driver was drinking coffee at the same time as making phone calls and steering with her knees in crazy Greek traffic. Sjoe-Sjoe!

In life there are so many things that distract us. Not just the sin stuff but things that keep us busy and not focused on following Jesus wholeheartedly. “Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust” (Proverbs 4:25-27 Message).

How do you guard or protect something valuable?
What do you do with it?

The heart is the most important part of us- especially if we say Jesus lives in us!
We’re told to guard our hearts above all because from our hearts comes our lives.
Everything we think, say and do is affected by what is in our hearts. So we need to pay careful attention to what we let in.

Ask God to purify your heart and focus on Him so that what comes from your heart is pleasing to Him.
