“Forrest Gump”

“Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” – Forrest Gump
The movie shows us that life is full of uncertainty and wonder.

The main character has a special sense of hope and innocence in the way he jumps into life without any doubt. I love it – to be around people who are always excited about life, it always gets me excited and positive too!

But it’s not easy to be positive and excited about life when things are difficult.
Isaiah 40:31 ( shows us that we find new strength when we trust the Lord.

Count on me.

“You can count on me like 1, 2, 3. I’ll be there.” is the line that starts the chorus of “Count on me” by Bruno Mars. This song speaks of how the songwriter is someone the listener can count on. Sound familiar?

Psalm 34:6 says, “In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles,” ( The same way David could count on God when things were hectic, we can count on God today. God is still the same reliable friend and father that He was then, and He will always be that friend till the very end.

Another in the fire.

The song “Another in the fire” by Hillsong United, is about the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were thrown into a fire but lived – Daniel 3:4-27 (

You might be in a situation that feels as if it’s a fire burning you alive, but God never forgets about us when things get tough. He doesn’t promise that there’ll never be fires but He does promise to stick with us through it like He did with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. All He wants us to do is trust that He is and will always be there for us.

Can God be trusted?

I know the answer is YES.
Do you? How about your friends and family?

But how do we know we can trust God?
The answer: relationship with Him – the more I get to know Him the more I know I can trust Him.

Knowing God = trusting God.

When life gets tough, I can trust Him.
When things fall apart, I can trust Him.
When the world seems very upside down, I can trust Him.
With my future, I can trust Him.

When a virus hits the world and puts the people in lockdown and fills us with many questions – I can still trust Him.
