Count on me.

“You can count on me like 1, 2, 3. I’ll be there.” is the line that starts the chorus of “Count on me” by Bruno Mars. This song speaks of how the songwriter is someone the listener can count on. Sound familiar?

Psalm 34:6 says, “In my desperation I prayed, and the Lord listened; He saved me from all my troubles,” (https://bit.ly/3cIAJoT). The same way David could count on God when things were hectic, we can count on God today. God is still the same reliable friend and father that He was then, and He will always be that friend till the very end.

Another in the fire.

The song “Another in the fire” by Hillsong United, is about the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who were thrown into a fire but lived – Daniel 3:4-27 (https://bit.ly/3cFSLIC).

You might be in a situation that feels as if it’s a fire burning you alive, but God never forgets about us when things get tough. He doesn’t promise that there’ll never be fires but He does promise to stick with us through it like He did with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. All He wants us to do is trust that He is and will always be there for us.

Can God be trusted?

I know the answer is YES.
Do you? How about your friends and family?

But how do we know we can trust God?
The answer: relationship with Him – the more I get to know Him the more I know I can trust Him.

Knowing God = trusting God.

When life gets tough, I can trust Him.
When things fall apart, I can trust Him.
When the world seems very upside down, I can trust Him.
With my future, I can trust Him.

When a virus hits the world and puts the people in lockdown and fills us with many questions – I can still trust Him.

Dependable.

Have you ever broken a bone in your arm or leg and had to adapt to life in a plaster cast? Not always easy hey?! Did you find that you needed someone or something (crutches) to help you walk and go around school?

Read Proverbs 25:19 (https://bit.ly/2AIfIw3).

When we have times of difficulty, we need to have reliable people around us that we can depend on. As you think about this, who are your faithful/reliable friends? Are you a faithful friend -can you be depended on in the different life seasons?

And more importantly, Jesus is the most dependable of us all!
