Wig snatched!

In movies and real life, a crisis reveals the shocking truth about people (like a wig snatched off someone’s head). Gasp! It’s interesting to see who acts heroically, who falls apart and who selfishly only saves themselves.

“If you fall to pieces in a crisis, there wasn’t much to you in the first place.” (Proverbs 24:10 – http://bit.ly/3166uBx). We are children of the Most High God. The Holy Spirit lives inside us. We are supernaturally strengthened, empowered and equipped. So remember that next time you find yourself in a crisis. Stand firm. You and God have got this!

Fear of Failing…

No one loves to fail at things – we want to be winning at life all the time. For some of us though, the fear of failure stops us from even trying. Is this you? Are you afraid to do something you know you will love because you fear you may fail at it?

Proverbs 31 is a Proverb about the godly woman – but I think verse 25 (http://bit.ly/2J5Gij2) can be applied to both guys and girls. This is the way God wants us to live, not in fear of the future (what might or might NOT happen) but walking boldly through life in His strength.

How can you let go of fear and walk in His strength today?

Bastille – Joy

http://bit.ly/2YW9TS8

Mental Health is spoken about a lot these days.
For many, it’s a real struggle. For others, they seem to have “jumped on the band wagon” and believe a lie about themselves.

But what I am hopeful about is that popular bands like Bastille are addressing the issue.

“Oh Joy, when you call me
I was giving up, oh, I was giving in
Joy, set my mind free
I was giving up, oh, I was giving in”

We can look at the dark and disappointing things. Or we can welcome in Joy.

Read Nehemiah 8:10 (http://bit.ly/2YYTtZ9)
Hold onto God’s joy. Focus on it. Live in it.

Rise Up by Andra Day (http://bit.ly/2CwOKH8) is a song about not going through things alone – being there for each other through the tough situations we sometimes face in life – helping each other “rise up” when we’ve fallen.

Being there for each other is a picture of Jesus being there for, and with us. Isaiah 40:26-31 (http://bit.ly/2CuqPbx) reminds us of this – Jesus is with us, always. HE lifts us up when we are down. He strengthens us when we are weak.

Are you facing a tough situation at the moment? Is there someone you can chat to about it?
Or is there someone in your world that is going through something? How can you be there for that person?
