Pearl Harbour is a classic war/romance film based on a true event. The film portrays the arrogance of the American military believing that no one would be able to attack Pearl Harbour, a naval base in Hawaii, however, the Japanese planned and successfully attacked Pearl Harbour to the shock and disbelief of the unprepared Americans.

As Christians we can have a similar arrogance in believing that Satan will never attack, deceive or tempt us. However, the real reality is that he has, does and will (John 10:10 – http://bit.ly/2vAvQrJ). Are you prepared and ready for this? Jesus is already victorious over Satan and helps us defeat him daily.

I don’t know if you have ever lost something, I lose things all the time such as my phone cable or my sun glasses. The storylines of Finding Nemo and Dory are about how far the characters will go for someone who is lost.

Luke 15:8-10 (http://bit.ly/2VnDFO0) tells the story of a woman who goes to all lengths to find a lost coin, when she finds it, everyone around her celebrates, verse 10 describes that in the same way people celebrate over the coin, there is a party in heaven every time someone who is lost becomes found by Jesus. Thank God that you are found and lost no longer.

Pitch Perfect

In Pitch Perfect we see Becca trying to find her way through college, she wants to become a music producer instead of studying. She is so sure of her purpose and is ready to do anything to get there, even dishonour her father.

Do you know what your purpose is?

When we come into relationship with Jesus, He gives us a purpose, even when we doubt, He tells us to go and make disciples of all people. Read Matthew 28:16-20 (http://bit.ly/2ElRFim) and pray that God affirms His purpose for you today, a purpose which brings others into the greatest relationship they could ever have.

Hitch

The movie Hitch which stars Will Smith is all about two peoples’ compatibility in a relationship. He helps people to change so that they might be noticed, liked or even loved by their crush. Naturally the movie ends with people falling in love when they are just being their natural selves.

You do not need to change to be noticed, liked or loved by God, instead the opposite. He made you in His image, He sees you, knows you and loves you just as you are. We change because of our relationship with Jesus, not to enter a relationship with him.

Remember this as you read Ps 139 (http://bit.ly/2EfiANJ)
