God sees us as Sinners, who are dead in our sin or Saints, who live for Him.

Read 1 John 1:9 here –http://bit.ly/2r4VyDx

A Sinner is someone who sins. It is someone who does not have the power to stop sinning. Some people don’t like to be told that they are sinners. They say, “I already feel so bad about myself.”

Until we see and believe that we are more sinful than we think, but more loved by God than we could ever know, we will never be able to be forgiven of our sins and be set free to live eternal life.
Are you a sinner or a saint?

God And Gomer

Have you ever been cheated on? It really hurts deep down right? You feel betrayed, angry, sad…

In the Old Testament God tells Hosea to marry a woman who was known for sleeping around (Hosea 1v2). God knew Gomer would cheat on Hosea sooner or later and that it would hurt – but God wanted to show the Israelites that their sin was wrecking their relationship with God too.

When we choose to love other things in our lives more than God it’s kinda like we’re cheating on God too. What does it tell you about how much God loves you that he always stays faithful to you, no matter how unfaithful you’ve been?

Prayer About Grace

If you’ve been challenged this week by the cost of grace, why don’t you join me in this prayer:

Father God, thank you for sending your Son to die for my sin. Thank you for all that I have received because of your grace.

Help me never to take your grace for granted, as if it had cost you nothing.

Rather, would you help me to live with the power that your grace offers – a power to deal once and for all with the sin in my life.

May your forgiveness never be my excuse to disobey you.

Amen.

Living For Grace vs Living For Pleasure

Just do whatever feels good and doesn’t hurt other people. Good advice, right?

No. That is horrible advice. Like, really bad.

Don’t be tricked into putting the pursuit of pleasure before the pursuit of obedience. Learn to imitate Jesus, rather than people around you. Grace cost Jesus everything. Truly living by grace will cost us too. That’s a fact. But it’s worth it.

“But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.”

All of us face times where we have to choose between living for grace and living for pleasure – make sure you know in advance which one is really going to give you the life you want.
