The One.

A lot of people started using #alllivesmatter but the Black Lives Matter movement is not saying that all lives don’t matter.

Matthew 18:12-14 (https://bit.ly/2xF32iV) Jesus tells us about the shepherd who left the 99 sheep to go after the 1 who had gone astray. Not because the 99 didn’t matter but because the 1 was in trouble. The 99 were safe, he didn’t need to worry about them. In the same way God goes after the one that is lost.

Let’s think about advocacy – it’s the public support of a cause. How can we advocate for those facing the injustice of racial bias?

The Voice of God

Are we listening to what the Holy Spirit is saying? How do we know it’s His voice? I think that the more we listen, and practice listening for His still, small voice, the more we hear it.

In John 10:27-29, Jesus says: “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow Me.I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me,is greater than all;no one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand.I and the Father are one.” http://bit.ly/2SWlEbD

What’s God saying to you today?

YOU ARE ON GOD’S SHOULDERS

In Luke 15 (http://bit.ly/2ND6Xre) we read a story about a sheep that goes missing.
Sometimes, you and I can be like that sheep. We go missing.
We stray away from God.

What does He do?
He comes and looks for us, of course!
I like this imagery: “And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders and goes home.”
When God finds us, like a Shepherd would carry a sheep on his shoulders, so God does the same with us.

Why not talk to Him while He “carries” you on His shoulders today.
