#designedforfreewill

According to Greek mythology, the Fates were 3 goddesses who weaved the destinies of mankind. A buddy asked “Am I a pawn doomed to God’s predetermined path for me?”

God’s not some finger-shaking Jedi master who controls His weak-minded Christian sheep. While He absolutely knows what’s best for us, He has given us the freedom of choice to obey or disobey Him. He’s given us His Holy Spirit to guide us in making good choices so that “[His] kingdom come, [His] will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” Matthew 6:10.

The Spirit is with you – always

I’m convinced that my son will become a greater man than me. I’m like a David of old who conquers kingdoms. He’s like Solomon who unites kingdoms through the wisdom of God. God has designed/wired/put-him-together like that.

When Jesus said that “I have come that they [you] may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10), it means that you’re designed to live a life of eternal importance – not to simply exist – not just making it through the day.

The devil comes to rob you of your purpose and passion. Jesus calls you to that special place where His purpose and your passion meet.

Jumanji: The Next Level

Have you guys seen the new Jumanji? It’s hilarious. I really enjoyed both of them. Something about The Rock and Kevin Hart together just works!

There’s a part in the movie when they realise that they’re the wrong characters and the skills they currently had weren’t working. It struck me that we’re like that too. When we’re trying to be something we’re not, things are difficult. God has given us each unique skills, passions and strengths for a reason.

What has God put in your hands, and are you using it? Or are you trying to be something you aren’t?

Uniquely Purposed

When God created us, He created us for a special purpose. With a unique set of skills, talents, strengths etc.

So when God calls us to work for Him, He simply asks: “What’s in your hand?” Just as He asked Moses (http://bit.ly/2D4J8Cg). Whatever skills, talents and strengths you have already been blessed with, can be used for the kingdom of God!

Sometimes we feel so insignificant, and not worthy enough to be used by God. But like Moses, we shouldn’t be focusing on what we can’t do, but on what God can do through us!

This is where our confidence should come from.
