The Middle – Zedd

In this song, the singer desires to be closer to their partner. However, they make it about the other person moving towards them. So pull me closer, Why don’t you pull me closer?

James 4:7-8 (http://bit.ly/2r8lgHB) makes it clear that part of our role as Christ-followers is to resist the enemy and to draw near to God. Yet, there is also the promise that as we draw toward God, He will draw toward us.

Today, let this call to draw toward God be your sound track. Be it in class at school, on the sports field, or at home.

Have you ever felt like your shame is a barrier stopping you from coming to God? The Heart of Man is that film which goes deep. I mean, really deep.

It’s a modern-day portrayal of the prodigal son – that famous parable Jesus told all those years ago of a father’s reckless love for his rebellious son. It’s talking about you. And this movie captures the ‘rawness’ of that story with brilliant honesty.

It asks the question: instead of the shame you’re feeling being a barrier to God’s love, what if you saw it rather as a bridge to forgiveness, freedom, and hope?

I told you it goes deep.
