In the first Ant-man movie, Scott Lang finds this shrinking suit and learns how to use it, getting into trouble along the way. In the second movie, he has a side-kick: Wasp. Two are better than one: they make a great team. We often see pairings in superhero movies: Batman and Robin, Clark Kent and Louis Lane, Captain America and The Falcon. A hero never saves the day on his own. Their friends and sidekicks make them stronger and keep them on the right path.

Doesn’t this remind you of Proverbs 27:17 (
The right friends are important to your story.

The new Jumanji movie is hilarious!
I loved it!

These teenagers get sucked into a video game and are given unique and special talents. Some of them don’t seem that great. But throughout the movie, we see how each one is given those talents for a specific reason and they all come in handy at some point.

Isn’t this an amazing picture of how God gives each of us talents and gifts too, and how every single one is precious? That’s why community is so important; God designed all of our talents to work together!

If you’re anything like me, you left the cinema after watching the latest Avengers movie, Infinity War, broken. When some of our favourite heroes drift away, their bodies fading into dust, I was shaken to my core.

What next?
Where have they gone?

Lately I’ve seen the parallel between that, and Genisis 3:19 ( where it says we are from dust, and to dust we shall return. This may seem depressing, but isn’t it incredible that as Jesus followers, that’s not the end.

We don’t have to ask “What’s next?”.
We know our time here is short-lived, but our time in Heaven is eternal.

Earlier this month the Marvel icon passed away. #RIPStanLee
Stan Lee created a whole world of leaders that we know as superheroes
We can mourn for the loss.
But we can also celebrate his life and ask ourselves what we have learnt.

“With great power comes great responsibility.”

To be a leader in school, in church or for your team is no small thing. Take the position with wisdom and courage! You may have read (or even watched) what a big impact Stan Lee’s life made.

Ask yourself:
What am I called to do?
What is the vision for my life?
