Jonah 3

READ Jonah 3 (http://bit.ly/2Vkv0Mj).

When Jonah arrived in Nineveh, his message was heard and the people of the city, including the king, all bowed before the God of Heaven and asked for forgiveness. They saw that they were sinners who had done many evil things. So they stopped what they were doing and called out to the Lord, asking for His mercy. God heard and did not destroy them. God showed kindness to them and forgave them of their sins.

God is kind. He is forgiving.
What about you, have your turned to the Lord?

Jonah 2

READ Jonah 2 (http://bit.ly/2Vn8jH5).

As Jonah ran away on the ship to Tarshish, God sent a storm to stop the ship sailing away from Nineveh so that Jonah would go and speak about Him to the people of Nineveh.

Our God, the God of the Bible, is a God of “salvation” (Jonah 2:9).

This means that God wanted to save the people of Nineveh from their sin – like He wants to show kindness to us, and save us from our sin.

Do you believe that God wants to save you from your sin?

Jonah 1

Read Jonah 1 (http://bit.ly/2zur2Xr).

Jonah was asked by God to go to a city called Nineveh and speak to the people living there, calling them to turn to God. Jonah however did not listen, instead he ran away on a ship.

Some people think that Jonah ran away because he was scared to speak to the people of Nineveh. This is not correct and we will see more about this in chapter four.

God will ask us to do things we might not want to do sometimes.
What would you do if God spoke to you and asked you to speak to your friend about Him?
