Knives Out

In the movie ‘Knives Out,’ one of the main characters gets violently sick if she tells a lie. Once the investigator figures this out, it becomes pretty easy for him to begin to solve the crime. Regardless of the lies and tricks in the plot, the truth eventually comes out.

‘The Truth’ is one way Jesus defines himself:

I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

We know how important it is to speak the truth, but do we always do that?

What keeps you from sometimes being truthful? Take it to God.

Little Drummer Boy

I know Christmas was yesterday and some people have stopped the carols already. But stay with me for a second.

Do you have a favourite Christmas carol? I love ‘Drummer Boy’, and the Pentatonic’s version is particularity great.

I love the story of a poor drummer boy, who didn’t have a gift he thought was worthy enough for the King (Jesus). But he played his drum, he played his best for Him, and the King smiled at him. Pa rum pam pam pam.

Isn’t that the beauty of Jesus?
He just wants us to bring what we have.

Simple as that.

Christmas Eve

Think about your favourite person in the world. Do you think you could spend eternity with them? Maybe.

Now think about all their bad habits, the things that tick you off about them. Imagine them at their absolute worst. Still want eternity with them?

God sees us at our worst and He still sent His son to die for us, so that we could have eternal life (1 John 5:11).

Eternity with Him, despite our sin and ugliness.
He sees you and me as worth it.

This Christmas eve, remember this: God saw you as worth coming to earth for. Worth dying for.
