Citizen of Heaven

Part of who you are is formed from where you come from.
Philippians 3:20-21 ( says a Christian’s real home is in Heaven.
Your real identity is as a citizen of Heaven.

That means

1. You are away from home now, explaining why life is sometimes uncomfortable – This is not your real home.

2. You have something to look forward to, in all situations. When there, you will find real peace.

3. God wants and accepts you as Heaven’s citizen, despite you not being born there. You are Loved

4. Your character should become like HIS

So don’t let today’s discomforts stop you.
Be Bold and head out as a citizen of Heaven.

100% certain

Is it worth following Jesus? It is easy to doubt.
Is Jesus real?
Is heaven real?

Revelation 3:7-13 ( tells Christians under pressure that Jesus IS coming back.
No doubt! It is Certain, Guaranteed.

There is an open door that cannot be shut. Just as your ID guarantees citizenship in South Africa, the Holy Spirit guarantees entry into Heaven. With this certainty in Jesus, we don’t need to fear what others do to us, so let us not give up on our hope and let us not back down from the fight. We can have 100% confidence in our relationship with Him.

I can’t go to the gym, because I haven’t paid the membership fee and don’t have the membership card. This card doesn’t just give you access to the building, it’s so much more than that – you have access to everything inside, all areas of the building are open to you.

Read Ephesians 2:19-22 (

Just like a membership card gets us into the gym – Jesus got us into heaven. No membership card/fee needed. I love what v.19 says, “Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s very own family”

Who is this child born in a manger?
Christmas is named after Him.
The whole world “stops” once a year because of Him.
Gifts are given because He was given.
Who is this child?

Listen to who this song says He is:

Jesus Christ, Prince of heaven, Prince of peace, the incarnate Word of God, hope of the world, is He.

As we approach Christmas, let’s celebrate Jesus. Thank Him and praise Him for who He is and for all He has done for us.
