What would you do if you were caught doing something to hurt someone you loved a lot? Would you hide because you felt bad, or try and beg for forgiveness?

Often when we realise we’ve sinned against God we go into hiding until we think God might have forgotten! Hosea’s encouragement is this, ‘Come, let us return to the Lord!’ (Hosea 6v1)

Coming back to God when we’ve let him down can be hard, but it’s also the most healing thing we can do. Do you need to return to God and tell him about some stuff?

Paying Grace Forward

My friend is making malva pudding and custard for the painters who are working on her building. Why? Because she can.

Jesus says it is more blessed to give than to receive, and God himself demonstrates this by giving us far more than we could ever pay back.

If you’ve been blessed by God’s giving to you, don’t forget to “pay it forward”. Who knows, maybe it will even make you smile as well?

Show forgiveness.

Show kindness.

Show patience.

Show grace.

Because you can.

Wisewords From Yoda – Part 5

Wisewords from Yoda – Part 5: ‘Always pass on what you have learned.’

God’s Grace! It’s pretty amazing really. You get to be adopted into the great big family of God. But here’s the thing – that grace is invisible – just like God. How will people know that God is good? How will they see what grace is about – unless you show them?

‘But thanks be to God, who … uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere.’ 2 Corinthians 1v14.

We were never supposed to keep God’s grace to ourselves. Go ahead. Spread the love

‘This is what the LORD says: ‘Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Jeremiah 6v6 http://bit.ly/1fK5SqZ)

In the Old Testament the people of God saw many miracles but they still found themselves sinning! Why? They forgot. When we forget the goodness of God we become distracted by other, lesser things. How do we fix this? We return to the ancient paths. We read the ancient Story and recall what Jesus has done for us – and how He loves us!

Is there any God-action in your life you can remember and draw strength from today?
