In the movie “Little”, Jordan becomes a bully because she is done being bullied. But this behaviour follows her into adulthood and it is not pretty. She basically stops herself from who she really is because she wants to avoid being hurt.

Have you allowed what others think of you, and how they treat you, stop you from being you? Most of the time when we are trying to be who we’re not it’s a mess, and end up losing so much more. This has never been what God wants for us.

How can you be more of who God wants you to be this week?

Read Romans 12:2 (

Have you ever seen a parent looking at their child with love? The joy on their faces when they pick their child up. The tears in their eyes when they mess up, the pride in their eyes when they succeed. Nothing that child can do, will stop that parent loving them.

Read 1 John 3:1 (

God looks at you in the same way. He loves you so much that He claims you as His own child. You are not just another person or a number in the line, but His precious child who He wants to spend time with and share your failures and successes.

Strong Boy

God is like the strongest boy in your Grade.

Because He can carry things that you can’t.

There are some things you weren’t created to carry. Like anxiety or worry.
Worried about a test, or a friend or the future? That’s too heavy for you. Worry will weigh you down from the inside. It’ a burden too big for your mind to bear.

Disciple-fisherman Peter wrote, “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7 – That word ‘cast’ is fisherman-lingo for ‘throw as far away from you as possible’.

God is built to carry your unknowns. Your uncertainties. Your ‘what-ifs’ and your ‘what-nows’.

Don’t Worry!

In Luke 10:38-41 ( we read about Martha, whose focus was too much on serving. She worried and got upset about many things. Are you a Martha at times, or maybe too often? Do you hold onto to your worries or do you leave them with God?

Read Proverbs 11:28 here –

God wants us to trust Him. He wants us to give our burdens and worry over to Him. We will grow and flourish like trees when we do. Can you hear Him say, ‘come my child and trust in me”?

What are you worried about that you need to trust God with?
