Faith over fear

Have you had a situation lately where you needed to put your faith over fear? Yoh, it can be tough. When you’re trusting for something and wanting to trust God no matter what, but those doubts come creeping in

“You’re not good enough”

“You’re not praying hard enough”

“Maybe God doesn’t really love you”

When you’re facing mountains that need moving and the fear is taking over, stop. Breathe. Pray. Listen to your favourite worship songs. God will move that mountain how HE sees fit, and our faith needs to overcome our fear while we wait.

“God placed the best things in life on the other side of fear” Will Smith.

There were a few thousand unlikely heroes watching David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17: David’s confidence was in God so he had no problem approaching the giant to relieve him of his head. The Israelites however were “dismayed and terrified” (v11). Maybe a little wee came out – who knows.

But something changed after they saw what God could do through anyone who put their confidence in Him. “The Philistines turned and ran. Then the men of Israel and Judah surged forward and pursued the Philistines” (v51-52).

Your in-Christ-confidence affects more than just you.

Foggy Views

Driving in fog can be scary. You only see what’s right in front of you; the distance is a mystery. This is our lives, most of the time: only knowing what’s right in front of us.

The next week, month or year is unknown. We have to hope and trust in God for our next step, because He set out and knows the way so well.

He has infinite vision of the way forward and leads with grace. You can put your worries and fears to rest, because you know your way is secured.

Allow God to guide you: He knows the way.

Fear of Failing…

No one loves to fail at things – we want to be winning at life all the time. For some of us though, the fear of failure stops us from even trying. Is this you? Are you afraid to do something you know you will love because you fear you may fail at it?

Proverbs 31 is a Proverb about the godly woman – but I think verse 25 ( can be applied to both guys and girls. This is the way God wants us to live, not in fear of the future (what might or might NOT happen) but walking boldly through life in His strength.

How can you let go of fear and walk in His strength today?
