I remember being the lone voice in high school to stand and say “No! We will not do this.” I remember seeing unethical practices at my first job and telling the boss “This is wrong”. It felt like standing on a cliff-edge of doom but hearing Jesus saying “Jump! I’ve got you.”

Following Jesus may take you to places that are dark and scary. So shine – after all, light belongs in dark places. Where He leads, He enables. That may mean some recharging time in the strong tower of his Word.

“Although my memory’s fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Saviour”. This is from the same guy who wrote “Amazing grace. How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. I once was lost but now I’m found. Was blind but now I see” – John Newton.

“For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God” 1 Peter 3:18 (http://bit.ly/2SKxz8Z). That is the steadfast and secure platform from which we, as followers of Jesus, launch our daily lives. So, seeing as you have that absolute assurance, “live a life worthy of the Lord” Colossians 1:10 (http://bit.ly/2SSrqb9).

Paul, in another letter writes that Love is really important, it never fails. If you have Jesus in you, then your heart is His and His heart is yours. The Holy Spirit changes our hearts, maybe not right away but gradually over time as we surrender more and more to Him.

Read 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (http://bit.ly/2DKlXia) and 13:11-13 (http://bit.ly/2DOkQxJ).

Love is the greatest of all – its attitudes and characteristics are described well here.
Which ones do you find come naturally and which do you struggle with?
Talk these over with God, giving yourself over to Him to help you work on them.

You are completely free in Christ!
What does that mean for you?

Read Galatians 5:1-6 (http://bit.ly/2DLz8zj), focussing on verses 1 and 4-6.

Paul is writing about how the people were being slaves to the law (rules and regulations) and that because of Jesus we can live in relationship with God and others.

If we belong to Jesus, then we are in Him and in heaven we will be made perfect, like Him.
For now, though, our relationships matter, as Paul writes “The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love”

How can you show love to those around you?
