Read 1 Samuel 17:37 (

The story of David and Goliath is epic.

Maybe like me, you are always trying to imagine just how huge Goliath was. I even wonder if David might have had his doubts and maybe he might have even wanted to pull back his statement to fight Goliath. But there’s something David says that shows he knew from the start that it wasn’t him who was fighting, but the Lord. In David’s mind God had already won, and Israel would share in the victory.

Read Psalm 62:8 (

This year I’m reading through the entire Bible. From Genesis 1:1 to Revelation 22:21. Needless to say, I am now on the Book of Daniel and still going strong.

The journey has been as complex as the complicated situations in the Old Testament, but despite all of Israel’s failures I have seen God teach Israel to trust Him. At times their sin would be so great, and God would still not forsake them.

This should encourage us to know that God loves us through our difficulties and will continue to fulfill His promises in our lives.

Read Psalm 107:29 (

I’m talking about, dark clouds, loud thunder, scary lightning, that kind of storm?

I have, and it can be quite scary. Getting caught in a storm when there is no proper shelter in sight is even worse. Adding to that, the discomfort of being completely soaked. But despite the uncomfortable moment, we know that it will pass. It’s that knowledge of it passing that keeps us going on. Holding on.

So be encouraged, the Lord who allows the storm shall make it pass.

I’m not sure about you, but I’m a talker. I need to talk things out to feel better. Sometimes I don’t even realise that I’m anxious about something until I start talking about it.

God wants us to talk about our anxieties with Him. We’re coming up to that time of the year when it’s exams and end of year stress. Don’t carry the burden on your own. Get some friends together some mornings and do a Bible study or pray together.

God cares for you, He wants you to give Him all your fears and worries (1 Peter 5:7 –
