When you hold your breath under water for a long time, then reach the surface for that first deep breath with your lungs craving air – you breathe in and know that you’re alive as air fills your lungs.
That feeling of craving air can be compared with our longing for God. It’s more than a want. It’s a need. And God doesn’t leave us below the surface (in darkness), without the oxygen we need to live – He calls, He shouts, in Jesus He came to find us, so that we can be alive again.
