In the Far East, my tall, blonde and blue-eyed sister was treated like a celebrity (especially in remote villages that hardly, if ever, encountered foreigners). The locals wanted to take selfies with her. In a land where everyone has the same hair/eye colour, she was outstanding.
We as Christ-followers, are also called to stand out from the crowd. This world is not our home. We’re “aliens and strangers in the world” (1 Peter 2:11 – http://bit.ly/2ILbpmq). We must be careful not to “become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking” (Romans 12:2 http://bit.ly/2ILbmae). Let’s be outstanding for Jesus today!
